  • Overview

    The Recruiter/Human Resources Associate is responsible for supporting the associate life cycle through human resources initiatives that align with, support and drive Fahlgren Mortine’s Best Place to Work culture.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops and implements proactive and innovative recruiting/sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates for corporate and regional offices
      • Leverages external networks and social media recruiting platforms
      • Investigates new and innovative talent sourcing strategies
      • Develops and maintains passive candidate pipeline (uses advanced internet and database searches, cold calling, referrals, professional associations, social media and research to meet talent demands)
      • Partners with department heads to share passive candidates and network where appropriate
      • Maintains and updates competitive intelligence, market and industry trends – as it relates to talent acquisition
      • Utilizes an applicant tracking system to post job openings and route resumes to hiring manager; coordinates and schedules interviews; greets and escorts candidates; serves as point of contact for candidates, as well as provides updates and feedback on interview process
    • Updates and maintains human resources records and internal reports – may include HR scorecards, associate files, organizational charts, etc.
    • Maintains employee records and department files in accordance with human resources procedures, as well as state and federal recordkeeping requirements
    • Ensures personnel transactions such as hires, terminations and promotions are appropriately reported to the payroll/benefits administrator
    • Collaborates with human resources team and hiring manager to manage components of the onboarding process; prepares onboarding toolkits and welcome materials
    • May facilitate new hire paperwork sessions for associates; explains company benefits and enrollment as well as ensures all required employment forms are completed accurately
    • Collaborates with Human Resources Director to implement agency compliance procedures including, but not limited to: distribution of updated labor law posters, coordination of EEOC training, execution of onboarding training and education for hiring managers, etc.
    • May support logistics planning and execution of Fahlgren Mortine’s professional development programming
    • Answers routine human resources-related questions and may assist with associate relations to ensure legally-sound employment practices
    • Collaborates with internal communications team to develop and execute company events
    • Supports and may manage the performance management process for Fahlgren Mortine and its subsidiaries
    • Other duties, as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 2-3 years of human resources experience in a fast-paced work setting (recruiting experience in professional services, fashion or retail a plus)
    • Proven ability to source creatively from channels such as job boards, associations, employee referral programs, social media and internet searches
    • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing business requirements
    • Demonstrates an understanding of employment law and human resources practices
    • Experience working with regional/remote offices is a plus
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to manage challenging situations and maintain confidential information
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, previous experience using human resources recruiting platforms
    • Strong sense of urgency accompanied by a “roll up your sleeves” approach
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills; demonstrates influence and diplomacy at all levels
    • Ability to navigate conflicts and challenging situations
    • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
    • BA/BS in human resources, business administration or related fields
